2016 THEME: FOSTERING THE FUTURE OF AFRICAN RETAIL
Retail Congress Africa is part of the prestigious World Retail Congress Series and was launched four years ago in order to help build modern retailing in Africa. The Congress is attended by around 300 leading industry executives from across the continent together with international retailers from outside of Africa, and has proved to be a powerful gathering that allows an effective exchange of ideas and knowledge.
The core objectives of Retail Congress Africa are to encourage and support established retailers in navigating challenging environments and exciting new markets whilst also promoting new start-up retail businesses. We bring together these retailers with experts and representatives from areas such as government, finance, technology and real estate to provide insight, inspiration and strategy.
This year’s theme is “Fostering the future of African retail” and will focus on building the foundation needed to take the industry forward, addressing key challenges including eco-political stability, winning in new markets and educating and retaining retail talent of the future.
