Nielsen , Managing Director, Africa Retailer Vertical
Harsh Sarda currently serves as the head of Nielsen’s Retailer Vertical in Africa leading the team responsible for all retailer engagement, client service, e-commerce strategy and deployment, and operational execution. He has provided consultancy to many global, regional and local businesses with insights to grow their brands in some of the most vibrant consumer markets across the world; with his deep consumer and retail understanding, he has been able to inform marketers’ and retailers’ portfolio strategies in multiple geographies.
Since joining Nielsen 9 years ago, Mr. Sarda has held numerous leadership positions within the company, most recently as the Managing Director for West Africa, where he established solid foundations for geographic expansion and portfolio development. Prior to moving to Nigeria, he worked in South East Asia and in South Africa, managing the Insights & Innovation practice for Nielsen in Africa. Mr. Sarda has also worked for Kantar Consumer Research in India and in the media planning team at Y&R. Mr. Sarda has a Masters degree in Marketing Communication from MICA, India. He currently lives in Johannesburg, South Africa with his wife and son.
