Coca Cola Southern Africa , President
Therese Gearhart has been appointed President of Coca-Cola Southern Africa effective 1 January 2013. The Southern Africa Business Unit encompasses South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho, and Malawi.
Therese was previously appointed President of Coca-Cola South Africa, effective 1 March 2012.
Prior to her current leadership role, Therese served as Group Marketing and Commercial/Customer Director for the Eurasia and Africa Group (EAG). With more than 90 countries in EAG, it is The Coca-Cola Company’s most diverse operating group.
Therese brings 25 years of international experience in General Management, Marketing and Sales. She joined The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta in 1998 as Director of Learning Strategy for the Latin America Group. Between 2001 and 2006, Therese held two positions in North America Food Service Division as Region Vice President, Central Region and Vice President of Marketing.
In 2006, Therese was appointed as General Manager Central America where she led operations for Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Under her leadership, Central America achieved strong business results and improved bottling partner alignment.
Prior to joining the Company, Therese held various positions in General Management and Marketing at Motorola Corporation and Black and Decker Corporation. Therese has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and her Master’s degree from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona.
